How to Make the Tax Season Easier
Austin CPA, Adrian Vanzelden of The CPA Team developed this excellent 2011 End of Year Checklist to use as a working guide to year end preparation. Adrian and I are both members of the CPA Certified Professional Education Group and he kindly authorized the publishing of his work on the Business Resource Center.
For those of you whom this checklist does apply I have found it to be a very practical approach to year end closing and tax preparation. For more information see The CPA Team website.
Adrian notes that a very high percentage of his clients are business owners with corporations and LLCs, and therefore this document primarily applies for business like them. Real-estate rental businesses, oil & gas leasing, and non-profits are all excluded. If the company offers a real product or service, it should be quite helpful. It does not work for 1040 clients. He also states before implementing any of these items that you share this information with your own tax preparer.
